Read the deadline before starting
Look at both the date and the time. “Due tomorrow” gives you more room than a task due this evening, even if both are visible on the calendar. An undated skill goal should not distract you from a spreadsheet due in the next hour.
| Entry | Meaning in the demo | Your next action |
|---|---|---|
| Blue task | Work with a deadline | Read its due date and finish before that time |
| Orange event | A calendar reminder | Note the event; do not look for a completion checkbox |
| Undated Action Item | A continuing goal | Work on it after urgent tasks |
| Purchase objective | Buy the named item | Keep enough cash and leave time to reach the shop |
A task is still on the list
Check the action the task actually names. Buying a Reading Nook and leveling a skill are separate steps. So are unlocking the market and buying shares. For a reply objective, choosing a suggested response is only the start: you must type it in the Messages app.
If you did the action, return to the calendar and re-read the entry before repeating optional work. Follow Steve’s message steps or the spreadsheet checks for those tasks.
What to do about birthdays and events
The demo tutorial says orange events are reminders, not tasks to finish. A birthday on the calendar does not itself promise a reward, a new message or a required purchase. Check for a separate blue objective before spending your workday trying to clear the event.
Leave time for the journey
A purchase includes reaching the computer, opening the shop and operating the mouse. A spreadsheet includes navigating both cells and keys. Plan for that physical work; do not budget as though this were a normal point-and-click menu.
Finish the nearest urgent task first when two objectives share a deadline, then move directly to the other. Optional training is easier to postpone than a required work file.
Sleep and tomorrow’s stats
Return to the sleeping pot to end your day. The demo summary displays hours slept and next-day effects. One recording shows a worse outcome after a late night and an efficiency benefit after an earlier one; it does not establish a universal bedtime threshold for the full game.
Before you sleep:
- Check that today’s deadline tasks are finished.
- Look at tomorrow’s earliest objective.
- Keep cash available for the next required purchase.
- Stop optional work early enough to make the journey back to the pot.
If tomorrow has a busy calendar, an uncertain extra stock gain is a poor reason to keep watching the graph all night.
