Worming from Home Stocks: Unlock, Buy & Sell

Unlock the demo market, read your position and sell shares to turn stock value into cash for a required upgrade.

Early-game demo guide
Unlock the market, buy shares, and keep purchase money aside. The early demo makes stock trading a perk unlock. Your share value changes with the price; sell when you need that money as spendable cash.

Unlocking is not investing

Choose the Stock Market perk in the Junior tree, then open the market app. An objective to invest requires buying shares; opening the app or purchasing the perk alone is not the same action.

If you still need an early training item, keep enough cash for that purchase before investing.

Read the market screen

Display or action What it means
Share price The current price for one share
Shares held How many shares you own
Position value The current value of those shares
Buy Exchange cash for shares
Sell / Sell all Turn held shares back into cash

The demo shows live price changes while the player watches the screen. A rising position is not a fixed reward, and a previous high does not guarantee the next movement.

Calculate what you can spend

Illustrative example, not a game payout: if you have 100 in cash and shares worth 200, your combined value is 300. You still have only 100 immediately available for a shop purchase. Selling shares changes that split; merely watching the position grow does not.

Before a required purchase, compare its current price with cash, not total net worth. The money guide explains the same distinction across work and upgrades.

When selling helps your next objective

  1. Read the next required purchase and its deadline.
  2. Check your available cash.
  3. If selling closes the gap, decide whether completing that objective matters more than keeping the position.
  4. Confirm your balance after the sale before returning to the shop.

You do not need to catch the highest price of the day to make progress. Turning enough stock value into the cash for an important upgrade can be more useful than waiting for another rise.

When to stop watching the graph

If deadline work is unfinished, leave the market and do that work. If the next day matters more than an optional trade, go back to your sleeping pot.

This guide does not establish a fixed stock cycle, a guaranteed best stock or an infinite-money method. It covers the demo interface and how to use a position to fund a concrete goal.
